What do David Suzuki and CBEEN’s AGM have in common? The date and location!

Join us the evening of Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Castlegar for CBEEN’s annual general meeting and a networking reception (starting at 5:30 pm), followed by a public lecture by world-renowned environmental spokesperson and author, David Suzuki, at 7:30 pm at the Brilliant Cultural Centre.

CBEEN has reserved 25 tickets for Dr. Suzuki’s talk about his latest book, An Elder’s Vision of our Sustainable Future, and will sell them at a discounted rate of $10 to members who also attend our AGM.

The AGM and reception are free, but reservations are required for Dr. Suzuki. Contact admin@cbeen.org to reserve your tickets. This presentation is offered as part of Selkirk College’s Mir Lecture Series.

Speaking of AGMs, CBEEN is seeking inspired, and inspiring Basin-residents to join our Board of Directors in September. The Board meets quarterly and is responsible for the good governance of the organization. We’d especially welcome new Directors who help balance our geographic representation (West Kootenay? North Columbia?), gender equity (males needed), and professional gaps (formal teachers? post-secondary?). Previous Board experience helpful, but not essential. To express your interest, contact admin@cbeen.org.
