I have been active with environmental issues since coming to Castlegar in 2003. I took the Integrated Environmental Planning Program at Selkirk College and was part of the Eco Group and the Selkirk Peace and Environment Coalition. I am also the Environmental Coordinator for the Kootenay Region Branch of the United Nations.

My passion is helping the environment through poltics. That is why I took the job as Constituency Assistant for the Member of Parliament for BC Southern Interior, Alex Atamanenko. I really believe in the environmental policies of the NDP and I have a hand in trying to make change in a positive direction for the environment. Right now is such a wonderful time in politics because the environment is the leading issue and all parties and talking 'green'.

I have been active in talking to youth about politics and how they can make a difference to issues important to them, especially the environment, regardless of who they vote for. I like to take an non-partisan approach, but teach them the importance of voting, lobbying and getting involved.
