Currently I workd in Australia but I will be moving back to Canada in the next couple of years and I am just researching and trying to make contacts before then. I work currently for a local Council as an envrionmental education officer working on Catchment education, I work with community, businesses and schools. Some of the programs include a sustainabilty champions program where we work with community members to build their confidence and knowledge up and then they become ambassadors for the environment in their own community and hence spread the message. We are currently also doing a landuse audit of the catchment to document all business types so we can plan our business education program component. I work also with schools undertaking audits and helping them to form their own School environment plans. We will be holding our first youth forum in September where schools will be asked to showcase to one another what types of EE they do in thier schools and what each can learn from the others. Some future projects include riparian education, weed education, and erosion caused by mountain bikers.
