I am the performaing arts teacher at two elementary schools in Golden. 10% of my position, however, is \"Learning Leader\". In that capacity, I am to identify and then animate ways to engage our most vulnerable students in positive and practical activities. Given that these vulnerable students almost invariably come from impoverished homes, I have chosen food as focus for our activities. To date, we have just been cooking together, but the next phase will be the setting up of an organic kitchen garden, either on our school site, or at an accessible site in our community. Although we have gone to organic gardening and conservation of water in my garden at home over the past two growing seasons, we have done nothing of the sort and school and I need some training to get us started.
