Lesson Plan 11(WORD, updated Jan 12, 2008)

This lesson has students 'building' waterhseds using simple objects such as yogurt containers, wooden blocks, detergent bottles, etc. and a tarp. It can be a little hard for them (and teachers) to conceptualize this at first, so the following photos are provided to help in this regard. You may have to assist them.

Mountain building materials.

Forming basins, taller objects at the heads of the two basins.

"Mountains", with two basins formed so that their streams will join at bottom of picture.
