Professional Development Workshops

Teachers interested in attending one of the mini Pro-D sessions below are asked to register with Chris Ferguson in advance: wsep@cbeen.org or (250) 427-5054. Please pass on what grade(s)/subject(s) you teach.

Cranbrook Schools - May 12, Kootenay Orchards Elementary School, 3:20-4pm, Free, snacks provided

Windermere Zone - May 15, David Thompson SS, 3:45-4:30, Rm. 241, Free, snacks provided

Nelson - May 15, Central Education Centre, 3:20-4:00, Free, snacks provided

CBEEN is committed to helping teachers make the most of these Water Education kits. We are working with your District Administrators and Teacher Reps to book time slots at District Pro-D days in the coming months and will post dates and locations here when they known.

Car pooling is encouraged and CBEEN will be happy to facilitate this.

These sessions will:

  • provide an overview of the topics covered, their importance to Columbia Basin residents and how they tie in with IRPs.
  • explain how to get the greatest benefit from these kits once they are ordered from your DRC and describe upcoming improvements to watch for, including online resources and new curriculum
  • explore the kits and materials provided, including some hands-on activities

Feel free to contact Chris Ferguson (WSEP coordinator) to learn more about the workshops, the program as a whole or to set up a separate schoool briefing about the program.
